[edit] What are theclaycommunities?
The answer to this question can be simple and complex at the same time. Simply put, theclaycommunities are groups of people who are intentional about making disciples of Jesus Christ and expanding the Kingdom of God. In a more complex and formatted description: theclaycommunities can be broken down into four categories: life groups, blessing communities, interest communities, and worship gatherings.
[edit] LifeGroups
These are similar to traditional groups that would meet in any home, coffee shop, or other public site. They are intentionally smaller groups that are open to both believers and non-believers where the participants eat together, pray for each other, discuss life together, struggle through difficult issues, etc. These groups are dynamic versus static, always looking for ways to grow and reproduce.
[edit] Blessing Communities
These externally-focused communities include the Tennyson Center for Children, the Bake-Out blessing, and the like. They are the heart and soul of theclaycommunities in that they serve no other purpose than to bless those in our city.
[edit] Interest Communities
These are more activity driven groups. Some of these groups include: bowling, mountain-biking, scrap booking, etc. These groups will resist becoming in-grown and stagnant, intentionally focusing on involving and connecting to the un-churched.
[edit] Worship Gatherings
These are times when other communities can come together to corporately worship. In a gathering, ideally celebrate the life that is happening in all of our endeavors to be the church outside of the building. At these gatherings there is usually music, the Word being spoken, and a celebration of Communion.
